A former senior executive of Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) and a businessman were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with a multi-million-ringgit bribery scandal involving a sand mining concession. The former executive allegedly received bribes from a company that secured the concession years ago, while the businessman acted as an intermediary. Both suspects are linked to a prominent opposition leader in Selangor. MACC has frozen around 15 bank accounts and continues investigating whether the political figure was involved. One suspect remains in custody, while the other was released due to health concerns.
