PUTRAJAYA: The proposal for a National Housing Policy, including long-term housing loans, will be discussed by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT). Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the aim is to help lower-income households own homes without being burdened by rising prices. The meeting also addressed the rising household debt-to-GDP ratio, and strategies to balance costs of medical insurance products were discussed. The new Cost of Living Indicator, developed by the Department of Statistics, will be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
