A viral video on TikTok has sparked a debate among netizens regarding the Syariah court system. The woman allegedly claims that her ex-husband is not giving her “nafkah” which is equivalent to financial support for a wife. She complains that she has to work everyday to begin with.
Syariah Court Now Facing Allegations of Gender Bias Against Women
An X user states that she was once a witness for her friend during her divorce. They had to show proof of financial expenditure from the woman’s end with a lengthy Tesco receipt. The user then stated that the lawyer had a police report for domestic abuse.
Others state the court system is allegedly favourable towards men and women are allegedly sidelined.
