When you think the young kids were doing that in Malaysia only. Now, a Malaysian student in the UK, Teo Jia Xin, 22, was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murdering her newborn. Teo, who concealed her pregnancy, delivered the baby on March 3, placing the infant in a cereal box and hiding it in a suitcase. She did not inform anyone of her pregnancy, fearing repercussions on her studies. The baby, alive after birth, suffocated in the box. Warwick Crown Court Judge Justice Tipples ruled Teo eligible for parole only after 17 years, noting her lack of medical consultation or consideration for adoption or termination options.
