In Petaling Jaya, Pahang DAP Youth leader Ho Chi Yang criticized Umno Youth chief Dr. Akmal Saleh for inciting racial tensions over the Malaysia International Guan Gong Cultural Festival. Ho accused Akmal of amplifying false claims from PAS, which labeled the event “unpatriotic” after Chinese nationals were seen waving their flag. In response, over 300 participants gathered in Teluk Intan, waving the Malaysian flag and singing patriotic songs. Despite the controversy, festival organizers clarified that the flag display was unintentional and apologized. Local authorities confirmed the event was permitted, emphasizing the importance of adhering to laws regarding flag displays.
