Olympic medalist Aaron Chia firmly denied rumors that he and his doubles partner, Soh Wooi Yik, demanded RM2 million annually to remain on the national badminton team. The rumors surfaced after speculation about “top players” making such requests to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), though no names were mentioned. Speaking to the media, Aaron dismissed the claims and affirmed their commitment to representing Malaysia through the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Despite challenges, the duo aims to secure a top-eight ranking for a spot in the World Tour Finals, competing next in the Korea, Kumamoto, and China Masters.
