Charity Event Lifts Spirits of Underprivileged Families

The Penang Hindu Association (PHA) and the Temple of Fine Arts welfare wing Klinik Derma Sivasanta (KDS) recently organized the Deepavali Charity Aid 2024 in Penang to support underprivileged families.

Charity Event Lifts Spirits of Underprivileged Families 

Officiated by Jelutong MP R.S.N. Rayer, PHA president Datuk P. Murugiah shared that 150 families from Penang and Kulim, Kedah, received aid. Each family got vegetarian takeaway meals, a grocery package worth RM180, Deepavali snacks, RM50 for festival items, and RM5 for each child. 

Murugiah noted the financial struggles of these families due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Authorities and donors were thanked for their support.
