A man pretended to be a customer before allegedly stealing an iPhone XS Max from a telecommunications accessory store on Jalan Batu 2, Chukai, yesterday. The suspect, in his 30s, was recorded on CCTV taking the iPhone XS Max at 2:08 PM.

Kemaman District Police Chief Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan said store employees checked the CCTV after noticing the phone was missing from the service desk gallery at 8 PM.
The suspect had visited the store under the pretence of needing a screen protector. A police report was filed at Chukai Police Station at 12:30 AM. The case is under investigation.
