The delay is due to a recent change in shareholders. The construction period is four years, with completion expected by 2029. The project, carried out by AFA Prime Berhad, will cover 45.3 km at a cost of RM2.1 billion, adding lanes and constructing a new tunnel. The Ministry of Works is also studying a road from Pelangai junction to Putrajaya to enhance connectivity and reduce congestion.
