Johor will be the first Malaysian state to offer starting salaries of RM4,000 for diploma holders and RM5,000 for degree holders in select sectors within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi announced that this initiative, supported by the newly formed Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC), aims to create 100,000 quality jobs and meet demand for skilled talent in Johor. Zahid highlighted competition with Singapore, where currency conversion offers higher salaries. RM20 million will be allocated by the Human Resources Development Corp to the JTDC to support training programs tailored to high-demand sectors.
