Economic Affairs Minister Rafizi Ramli praised the MADANI Government for effectively controlling inflation, particularly food and drink prices, since taking office. The lowest inflation rate for food and drink was recorded at 0.7% in July 2018, remaining low until May 2019.

Prices rose after the GST abolishment, peaking at 7.2% in August 2022. Significant drops began in March 2023, reaching 1.6% in September 2024. Rafizi refuted claims of economic data manipulation and clarified that the Central Database Hub (PADU) cost RM31 million, not RM85 million.
