The Immigration Department detained 13 illegal immigrants during a two-day operation in Kota Bharu and Kuala Krai, which began last Sunday. Kelantan Immigration Deputy Director Nik Akhtarulhaq Nik Abdul Rahman stated that the detainees, aged 20 to 48, included five Thai nationals, four Myanmar nationals, three Bangladeshis, and one Pakistani.

They have been sent to the Tanah Merah Immigration Depot for further investigation under Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act and Regulation 39 (b) of the Immigration Regulations.
He urged employers to ensure foreign workers have valid passports and advised the public to report any illegal activities involving immigrants. “Strict action will be taken against those who mastermind, facilitate, or protect illegal immigrants,” he added.
