A 53-year-old man has been detained over the murder of an elderly woman whose body was found in a freezer in a house in Taman Overseas Union Garden, a residential estate in south-western Kuala Lumpur. The suspect is reportedly the woman’s son. The body has been sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. An investigation is underway under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The suspect had allegedly murdered his mother, who was in her 80s, and hid her body in a freezer three years ago. The crime came to light after the suspect called the 999 emergency services due to a health problem.
