Malaysia’s Leong Jun Hao has reached his first Super 500 final at the Kumamoto Masters, showcasing his giant-slaying abilities. Ranked 31st in the world, the 25-year-old overcame a tough semi-final against Indonesia’s world number six, Jonatan Christie, with a 10-21, 21-18, 22-20 victory. Earlier, the giant slayer defeated top players, including Lakshya Sen, Japan’s Koki Watanabe, and Kodai Naraoka. In the final, he faces China’s seventh-seeded Li Shi Feng, who defeated Viktor Axelsen and holds a 3-0 head-to-head record against Jun Hao this year. Despite the odds, he aims for his third BWF title after an inspiring tournament run.
