Terengganu is awaiting approval (of funds?) from the finance ministry to distribute bonuses to its civil servants, Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said. Speaking after tabling the state budget, Samsuri explained that bonus announcements were withheld pending confirmation of federal allocation approval. “We applied (for funds?) several months ago and await the ministry’s decision,” he said, adding that the bonus amount would also depend on federal directives. Meanwhile, civil servants in Selangor are set to receive bonuses equivalent to two months’ salary next year, while their counterparts in Sabah will receive one month’s pay. He said in the video below that he can’t announce bonuses if there is no money.
