The Selangor government is developing a carbon market policy, says Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. The Standing Committee on Environment, Climate Change and Green Technology is assessing greenhouse gas emissions to create strategic guidelines.
Selangor to Implement Carbon Credit Pilot Projects
Collaborating with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability and Malaysia Forest Fund, they aim to prepare reports and action plans by next year. A carbon credit pilot project is underway in the Raja Lumu and Klang Islands Permanent Forest Reserves.
Preliminary studies and cooperation agreements are in progress to ensure sustainability and reduce deforestation.
