Kesuma Allocates RM3 Billion for Skills Training in 2025

The Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma) has allocated RM3 billion for skills training in 2025 to prepare Malaysian workers for AI-driven disruptions. Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said the funds will support re-skilling, up-skilling, and cross-skilling programs for 600,000 jobs at risk.

Responding to a study on AI, digital, and green economy impacts, Sim emphasized the importance of these initiatives. The study found 18% of Malaysia’s workforce will be affected in the next three to five years. Kesuma plans to introduce a ‘fulfilment strategy’ to equip workers for the evolving job market.
