Malaysia’s professional men’s singles player, Lee Zii Jia, has officially qualified for the prestigious BWF World Tour Finals, set to take place in Hangzhou, China, next month. The confirmation, made via a social media post by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), marks Zii Jia’s third appearance at the season-ending tournament, following his outings in 2020 and 2021.

This qualification ends a two-year absence from the event for Zii Jia, underlining his determination and resurgence on the court.
Joining him in the tournament are other top-tier players, including Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the 2024 Paris Olympic silver medallist, as well as women’s singles players Busanan Ongbamrungphan (Thailand) and Aya Ohori (Japan). Indonesian women’s doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amalia Chaya Pratiwi have also secured their spots.
The BWF World Tour Finals will gather the sport’s best, promising an exciting showdown to close the badminton season.
