A restaurant owner in Langkawi was fined RM10,000 for failing to keep purchase and sales records as required by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN). Asyuni Mastura Basri, 22, admitted guilt. 

RM10,000 Fine for Langkawi Restaurateur Over Missing Sales Records

Her establishment, Danau Bingkuong Enterprise, sold turmeric fried chicken for RM20, which sparked social media complaints. Investigations found she failed to comply with regulations under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. 

The court also imposed a 12-month prison sentence if she fails to pay the fine, but Asyuni has already paid the penalty.
