SHAH ALAM: Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali hinted that Parliament could dissolve before 2027, urging delegates at Bersatu’s seventh annual general assembly to prepare for snap polls. Azmin emphasized that PN must secure support beyond its Malay voter base, including non-Malay communities and voters from Sabah and Sarawak, to form the Federal Government. While PAS remains PN’s backbone, its Islamist policies create anxiety among non-Malays, posing a challenge to the former party of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s broader appeal.
