BN chairperson and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has dismissed any involvement in creating a bumiputera NGO umbrella body akin to Dong Zong, a proposal suggested by Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin. Zahid also criticized leaders he referred to as “gila talak” (obsessed with power) but did not elaborate further. Muhyiddin had suggested the initiative to provide clearer leadership in advocating for Malay-bumiputera interests. The DPM made his remarks during a press conference at the Selangor BN Convention in Shah Alam.
