A viral incident in Indonesia shocked netizens when a video showed villagers exhuming a married couple’s corpses from their graves in Dannuang, Ujung Loe, Bulukumba, South Sulawesi.
Viral Video Shows Villagers Exhuming Bodies Over Political Feud
The bodies were moved to another cemetery because the couple’s daughter, Nurmi, had a political feud with the cemetery owner. The exhumed bodies were of Mattayang Daeng Lengu and his wife, Nurlia.
Following the 2024 Regional Elections, Nurmi requested villagers to help move her parents’ remains to Manjalling village. The village head agreed to prevent further escalation.
