New: Singapore man falls asleep during massage in Phuket and passes away

A 52-year-old Singaporean man, Lee Mun Tuck, died after a 45-minute oil massage at a parlour in Phuket, Thailand, on Dec 7. He fell asleep during the session but later showed signs of distress and could not be resuscitated despite staff efforts. His wife, present at the time, declined an autopsy and attributed his death to his sedentary lifestyle, noting he had consumed beer beforehand. Thai police ruled out foul play.

Thai singer Chayada Prao-hom, 20, tragically passed away from a blood infection and brain swelling after weeks of illness she linked to intense, “neck-twisting” massages. Before her death, she shared online how three massage sessions since October left her bedridden with worsening numbness. Her death has prompted Thai doctors to warn about the potential dangers of such treatments.
