Nearly 500 enforcement officers faced corruption charges between January 2020 and September 2024, according to Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform).
Nearly 500 Enforcement Officers Charged with Corruption
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) received 8,067 reports involving enforcement officers, with 4,972 related to corruption. A total of 1,192 investigation papers were opened, leading to 485 charges and 238 convictions. Azalina provided these details in response to a parliamentary question from Nurul Amin Hamid (PN-Padang Terap) about corruption investigations since 2018.
