Malaysia’s Median Salary Rises to RM2,745

Employment Rises to 16.72 Million in October 2024 salary

The median salary in Malaysia increased from RM2,600 to RM2,745 per month between June 2023 and June 2024, according to Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli. This means that among 6.73 million salaried workers, the median salary is RM2,745. 

Malaysia’s Median Salary Rises to RM2,745

The percentage of workers earning below RM2,000 decreased from 34.8% to 32.2%. Workers earning between RM2,000 and RM5,000 rose from 42.7% to 43.8%, and those earning above RM5,000 increased from 22.5% to 24%. 

The government aims to further improve salaries with key decisions starting in 2025, including raising the minimum wage to RM1,700.
