Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is free of corruption charges after prosecutors dropped their appeal in the Foreign Visa System (VLN) case, citing insufficient evidence. The High Court had acquitted Zahid in 2022, ruling the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case. Previously, all 47 charges in the Yayasan Akalbudi case were also withdrawn. This clears the Umno president of any remaining legal challenges tied to bribery allegations.
