Harimau Malaya coach Pau Marti Vicente acknowledged the tough challenge ahead as Malaysia faces defending champions Thailand in the 2024 ASEAN Cup at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium. Despite key absences, including Sabah FC players Dominic Tan, Stuart Wilkin, Darren Lok, and Daniel Ting, and injured striker Syafiq Ahmad, Vicente expressed confidence in the remaining squad’s ability to adapt and perform. Malaysia currently leads Group A with four points, following a 3-2 win against Timor Leste and a 2-2 draw with Cambodia. Thailand and Singapore trail with three points each. Malaysia will host Singapore at Bukit Jalil on December 20.
