The usage of the English language in Malaysia appears to be a controversial topic among some. For the most part, many are using it as a form of benchmark to differentiate some from others, which may appear to be unfair. But, a hotel in Johor is under scrutiny for bad sentence construction. 

Broken English used at Johor hotel 

The signage reads that if someone were to break the Christmas ornaments, they would be paid RM300. But, in reality, it is known that they tried to inform their customers a RM300 fine will be imposed on them if they broke anything. 

Regardless, the language is seen to be a common denominator when it comes to a world traveler, as most people in the world tend to at least understand some of it.
