They state that this is an Arabic traditional wear which is meant to protect the wearer from sand storms.
Malaysians not keen with burqas on the rise
There are several mean comments directed to the wearer of these clothes as users alleged that wearers could be wearing them to conceal their identities. The reasons why are also highly alleged as there could be some who would feel protected wearing them.
Some are defending the wearing of these clothes, but netizens are quick to fire back stating that the usability of these cloaks may not help the wearer much here.
