A 45-year-old man was fined RM80,000 for sharing obscene and pornographic videos online for profit early last year. Using the X app and Telegram, he sold explicit content, including group sex videos, for RM100 each, even involving a video of his wife with another man.

The Kubang Pasu Police in Kedah uncovered receipts and video links on February 20. Charged under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, he faced fines or imprisonment if unpaid. Despite pleading financial hardship, prosecutors sought harsher penalties due to the crime’s severity and its impact on public decency. He now faces jail time.
