Following reports of gruesome feline deaths at Universiti Malaya, several individuals rescued 22 cats to prevent further deaths. In a TikTok video by @shopbyhz, rescuers are seen searching the campus for stray cats to transport them to safety.

The cats will receive vaccinations, deworming, and medical checkups. However, not all cats were rescued due to objections from some faculties. Two cats were brutally killed in mid-December, prompting outrage. Animal activist @shimaaris demanded action against animal cruelty. The Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) received complaints about the killings, and investigations are ongoing.
