On December 13, Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) recorded over 553,000 crossings at the Singapore-Malaysia land border, surpassing the previous record of 543,000 in September 2024.

This marks a 15% increase from the same period last year. Due to the high volume, car travelers faced up to 3-hour waits for immigration clearance. ICA advised travelers to factor in additional waiting time and consider cross-border bus services.
The authority also emphasized cooperation with officers, adherence to traffic rules, and warned of stern actions against non-compliance.
