Gender differences have been a hot topic on social media in recent years. Debates about the women-only coaches on MRT trains have sparked resentment, with some arguing it’s “unfair” for women to have their own coaches. Meanwhile, there are also arguments in favor of segregated gender seating at weddings.
An X user states that he is pleased to attend a wedding where the men are seated separately from the women. He also hopes that this trend would be normalised throughout the country in the near future. But, netizens chimed in saying they disagree with this arrangement as usually it’s the mothers who would take care of the children.
A woman adds that if this is normalised, the husbands should either split their work and take some of the kids to handle. Users feel such an arrangement would be unfair to the wives. Having gender neutral seating will help both parents cooperate with each other.
Additionally, some are defending this viewpoint by arguing that women should not dislike this arrangement if their husbands are not assisting. It appears that social media users are blaming the mothers if their husbands are not adequately involved in taking care of the children.
