Veteran Umno Secretary-General Datuk Mustapha Yaakub has called for Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh to resign or for the Prime Minister to remove her from the Cabinet. He argued that her loss in a defamation case against former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan has damaged the credibility of the Madani Government led by Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Mustapha compared the situation to a 1963 case where Health Minister Abdul Rahman Talib resigned after losing a defamation lawsuit to uphold his integrity as a public servant. He also questioned Hannah’s suitability for her position, citing her background as a Christian missionary and raising concerns about her adherence to her oath of office, which includes upholding the Constitution and Islam as the official religion of Malaysia.
