A 2020 survey by Engender Consultancy found that 58.6% of women experienced sexual harassment in public spaces. Female-only parking spaces are often located near mall entrances and should be mandatory in multi-storey buildings for safety.
Misuse by men is common, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement, better lighting, surveillance, and public awareness to improve safety.
