At least 55 babies born in Malaysia on first day of 2025 so far

As 2025 began, Malaysia celebrated the arrival of Generation Beta with the birth of many newborns nationwide. Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan welcomed 20 babies by 1:30 pm, including 14 girls and two sets of twins. Pahang recorded 19 births, with the first baby, a boy, born at midnight at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital. Putrajaya saw six newborns evenly split between boys and girls. Perlis reported six births, and Melaka welcomed four babies, including one born to a foreign national. The joyous occasion marked a hopeful start to the new year, uniting families in celebration.
