Police will erect roadblocks around Putrajaya tomorrow, conducting stringent checks on individuals entering ahead of a planned solidarity rally for jailed former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak. Putrajaya district police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed reiterated that the rally, lacking permission from the venue owner, violates the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012. He warned participants of strict legal action, emphasizing checks to prevent weapons or seditious materials. Originally planned by Umno and PAS, the rally aims to support Najib during his court hearing on a royal addendum regarding house arrest. Umno has withdrawn following royal and police advisories, but PAS intends to proceed.
