Selangor MCA women’s wing chief Tee Hooi Ling has criticized the state government’s proposal to conduct drug tests on concertgoers, calling it “absurd” and “impractical.” She noted that such measures would cause significant delays, turning concert entry into a slow, chaotic process that could last hours.

Tee, also national Wanita MCA deputy chief, argued that the tests could be ineffective since attendees might use drugs after entering the venue. She suggested alternative solutions, such as enhanced security, increased patrols, and collaboration with law enforcement. “Imagine a concert with 30,000 attendees, each having to queue for a urine test. It’s time-consuming, manpower-intensive, and entirely impractical,” a critic reportedly said.
