A young boy died on April 23, 2023, after drowning in a Bandar Baru Sri Klebang swimming pool while under the care of two kindergarten teachers. The child was hospitalized for six days before succumbing to his injuries.

The teachers, S P Esther Christina and M Manisah, were charged with neglect and brought to court on January 7. Both pleaded not guilty. The court set their bail at RM3,000 each. If convicted, they face fines and imprisonment. The case will be mentioned again on April 8, 2025.
