At least five people have died in a devastating wildfire engulfing areas around Los Angeles. The disaster has destroyed approximately 1,500 buildings, forcing over 100,000 residents to evacuate their homes. Strong winds have worsened the situation, spreading fireballs from house to house, leaving large swathes of California in ruins.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone described the blaze as overwhelming, stating that the available resources were insufficient to tackle the massive inferno. On Wednesday evening, the fire reached Hollywood Hills, dangerously close to iconic landmarks like the Walk of Fame, prompting urgent evacuations and aerial firefighting efforts.
