Universiti Malaya (UM) has shut down two 24-hour retail outlets following allegations over the sale of a suspicious sandwich product labeled “ham & cheese” with questionable halal certification. In a statement, UM announced the closures to allow for an uninterrupted investigation into the matter.

The university emphasized its commitment to ensuring all products sold on campus comply with legal standards and halal certification requirements. The premises will remain closed until further notice. This decision reflects UM’s dedication to maintaining the trust and confidence of its community by upholding stringent standards for on-campus food products.
