The Higher Education Ministry has prepared evacuation plans for 14 Malaysian students studying at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as wildfires continue to threaten the state. Education Malaysia Los Angeles (EMLA), in collaboration with the Consulate General office in Los Angeles, is ready to relocate students to officers’ homes if necessary.
Malaysian Students
Currently, UCLA has not issued an evacuation order, and the students remain safe in their residences. The ministry advised students to stay alert and contact EMLA for assistance if needed. Malaysian students abroad were also urged to update their details in the MyData system for emergency readiness.
