The possibility of a Prime Minister from Pas is gaining attention, with Dr. Tengku Muhammad Fakhruddin of Dewan Pemuda Pas Terengganu asserting its feasibility. Universiti Utara Malaysia’s Associate Professor Dr. Mashitah Mohd Udin supported this view, stating that such a scenario aligns with the constitution. However, she emphasized the need for strong leadership, effective strategies, and collaborative governance to realize this ambition. Dr. Mashitah added that if Pas secures a significant majority in the next general election, it could pave the way for their candidate to assume the premiership. She noted that declining support for UMNO may leave Malays with Pas as a viable alternative.
