Woman involved in deaths of 3 UiTM students fit to be tried for murder

Norizan Ismail, 50, will face trial in the High Court following the completion of her psychiatric report, which confirms her fitness for trial. She is accused of causing the deaths of three Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students—Akmal Tukirin, 25, Ku Adib Aizad Ku Azmi, and Khairil Anuar Jamaluddin, both 20—by driving her SUV into two motorcycles on Oct 9, 2023, near UiTM Dungun, Terengganu. A fourth student, Ammar Danish Ridhuan, 20, was injured. Norizan faces charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or a minimum of 30 years’ imprisonment and 12 strokes of the rotan.
