The KPDN found that the halal logo was issued to a different, now-defunct company. Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung criticized KK Mart and urged the company to uphold halal standards and improve its procurement processes. He warned that such lapses could harm Malaysia’s image as a leader in the halal industry, which significantly contributes to the economy.
