Shake and Bake Cafe Sdn Bhd has responded to allegations of misusing the Jakim halal logo on its sandwich packaging, stating that its ingredients, including bread, cheese, and chicken slices, are halal-certified. The company pledged to cooperate fully with investigations by Jakim and the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry. Shake and Bake provided two halal certificates: one from Jakim for the sandwich issued to Lucky Food Processing Sdn Bhd and an Austrian halal certificate for the cheese slices recognized by Jakim. However, the company did not clarify why it displayed Jakim’s halal logo without its direct certification.
