Reports suggest former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad held a late-night meeting with 17 Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, allegedly to strategize against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s government. The meeting reportedly lasted until 2 a.m., based on claims from a PAS insider. While Mahathir and Hishammuddin have not commented, pro-Anwar supporters dismissed the rumors, citing previous failed attempts by the opposition to unseat the unity government since the 2022 general elections.
