As chairman of the Malaysian Halal Development Council, Zahid assured close collaboration with Jakim and relevant authorities to handle the matter carefully. He emphasized that the product had been withdrawn and described the incident as a lesson to avoid similar mistakes. While Umno Youth chief Akmal Saleh criticized the retailer, DAP and MCA leaders accused him of politicizing the issue, noting immediate action had already been taken.
