Despite offenders settling over 15 million summonses worth RM2.3 billion, RM286.2 million was outstanding in 2023, rising from RM203.38 million in 2022. JPJ restricts drivers with unpaid summonses by barring license and road tax renewals.

To improve awareness, JPJ plans to integrate notifications for outstanding summonses into the MyJPJ app. Currently, a flat rate compound of RM150 for traffic offences is available until 30 June 2025.
