The MACC is investigating five or six prominent banks for alleged corruption in loan processing. As part of its Op Sky operation, the MACC has frozen over RM22 million in funds linked to 98 bank accounts. Authorities have arrested 21 individuals, including 12 banking staff, one agent, and eight financial consultancy firm employees. MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki declined to name the banks but confirmed their involvement in unethical practices. Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya emphasized the ongoing nature of the probe, signaling a broader crackdown on corruption in financial institutions.
